Glossary of Terms:
3-D – A Panel texture bowing outward in the center and receding evenly to edges left-to-right, top-to-bottom.
Blade (texture) – Generally horizontal, sequential visor-type slats achieved by repeated severe angle overhangs.
Convex – A Panel texture that bows outward in the center and recedes evenly on the edges.
Divergent Plane, Post-to-Panel assembly – A planter's Panels and Posts do not share the same plane(s).
(This is achieved by purposefully cutting a Post's Panel slots not parallel to their length lines.)
Fade – A continuous, metered decline in texture depth.
Matrix (texture) – Equally spaced, sized and aligned "teeth"/nodes running left-to-right, top-to-bottom.
Panel – Broad, multiple sections of a planter’s body alternating between Posts.
Post – The main structural support(s) for a planter alternating between Panels.
- “Katana” style – A slender, graceful Post slightly wider at the base as compared to the top.
- “Flat Face” style – A post with a flattened outer spine.
- “Titan” style – A broad, sturdy Post with a sharp spine, much wider at the top as compared to its base.
- "Inverted" style - A reverse "Titan"post, of sorts (see above). This style is much wider at it's base versus the top.
Splayed – Sections of Panel texture “fanning” upwards, increasing in width in a metered, even progression.
Semi-staggered (texture) – Irregularly spaced, Panel slat texture.
Stack-board – Not cut from a single block of wood, but rather, fashioned from multiple boards glued together
then carefully hewn.
Staggered (texture) – Evenly spaced, alternating “brick wall” Panel slat texture.
Tongue and Groove assembly – To merge Panel tabs (tongues) with Post slots (grooves).
Blade (texture) – Generally horizontal, sequential visor-type slats achieved by repeated severe angle overhangs.
